Calgary Annual Quran Contest

Quran Contest

“And We have certainly made the Quran easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember.”  (Al-Qamar:17)

(القمر:١٧) وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ

The MAC Calgary Annual Quran Contest is the largest Quran gathering in Calgary. Participants of all ages and diverse backgrounds meet to celebrate their commitment to the book of Allah, The Holy Quran. From 4 to 24+ years old, everyone is encouraged to memorize a particular Surah according to their age. There is also a Huffath category where youth can choose among levels to memorize. Assessment in the Quran Contest does not only include memorization; participants are asked about the meanings of the verses they memorized along with some tajweed concentration. Registration usually opens a few months before the assessment days, so participants have enough time to memorize and prepare.

As everyone has completed their missions and memorized the words of the Holy Quran, MAC Calgary holds an event to give everyone recognition. An exciting Quran Contest celebration and awards ceremony follows the assessment. Indeed everyone part of this event is a winner and goes home with a prize from this world and the Hereafter.
