MAC Ansar Program

The MAC Ansar Program is a new initiative by the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) aimed at supporting individuals and families fleeing conflict, particularly from Gaza and Sudan. Through a combination of social support, integration services, and financial aid, the program helps newcomers navigate the challenges of settling in Canada.

Our Services:

  • Newcomer Support: We assist families in transitioning to life in Canada, providing essential resources and a welcoming community.
  • Community Involvement: Volunteers can help by embracing a newcomer family, offering emotional, social, and logistical support.
  • Professional Assistance: Local professionals and businesses can contribute by providing free or subsidized services.
  • Fundraising Efforts: Donations are used to meet the urgent and unexpected needs of newcomers, ensuring they have the support they need during their difficult journey.

Our Legacy – Why ‘Ansar’? The program is inspired by the term “Ansar,” meaning “supporters” or “helpers.” In Islamic history, the Ansar of Madinah provided unprecedented generosity and support to the early Muslim immigrants. MAC Ansar continues this tradition by helping newcomers, advocating for increased governmental support, and coordinating with community organizations.
