Kitchener-Waterloo Youth

About

The Kitchener-Waterloo region is flourishing with Muslim youth day after day. The MAC Youth Inspire team aims to provide beneficial programs and environment to meet our youths ever changing needs in today’s social climate.

MAC Youth Inspire aims to guide and grow the high-school youth by bringing islam into their daily lives and giving access to beautiful friends and mentors to strengthen their sense of belonging, community, and Iman. These youth are attracted to the masjid and community through various programs and events we host as detailed below.

Qiyaam Nights

On the first Friday of every month, high school youth from the KW community come to socialize, play sports, listen to lectures addressing pressing issues faced by today’s youth, and pray qiyaam.

Some lecture topics previously covered have been The Realities of Dating, Importance of Modesty, Choosing Friends Wisely, How to Know Islam is the Truth, and more.

These qiyaam nights provide an opportunity for youth to build a positive relationship with their masjid, find and connect with good friends, listen to a relevant lecture, & be able to ask questions that otherwise would not be asked.

We hope to grow this program as a mainstay in the Muslim youths schedules. Inshallah with the help of Allah we can grow this program and multiply the benefit it provides to the youth.

Sports tournaments

Every few months a sports tournament is hosted for brothers and sisters. In these events, the youth make teams, show up, and compete for the top spot in brother/sisterly competitive spirit. There is also a short halaqah given at each tournament.

These tournaments provide an opportunity for Muslim youth to find new friends, spend time in the masjid, and seek mentorship from older brothers and sisters.

We hope to grow this program and multiply its benefit through the help and guidance of Allah.

Ramadan iftar nights

Every Ramadan, a weekly Youth Iftaar Night is hosted where high-school youth gather to listen to a lecture, break fast together, and socialize with one another.

One of the weeks is a potluck where members of the community and youth bring food from home and enjoy all the different cuisines from the community.

These iftar nights provide an opportunity for youth to build a positive relationship with their masjid, find and connect with good friends, listen to a relevant lecture, & be able to ask questions that otherwise would not be asked.
