Qur’an Contest 2025

Contestants will be assessed on three key elements:
A. Quran Memorization
B. Tajweed/Recitation rules:
- Madd - Rules of noon
- Rules of meem - Makharij
C. Meanings of select verses/words in the assigned surah/Juz'
- Study guides are available on the contest webpage

The weight of each element depends on the contest level:
- 4 years to Grade 2: Memorization 96%, Tajweed & Recitation 2% & Meanings of select Verses 2%
- Grade 3 to Grade 10 : Memorization 90%, Tajweed & Recitation 8% & Meanings of select Verses 2%
- Grade 11 to Huffaz: Memorization 75%, Tajweed & Recitation 20% & Meanings of select words 5%

I hereby waive and release Muslim Association of Canada - Quran Contest from liability pertaining to the matters set forth below.

Muslim Association of Canada- Quran Contest has taken reasonable steps to offer a safe working environment for its staff, volunteers, and students. Although we are staffed with mature and responsible adult caregivers who will work to ensure the best safety and security of your child(ren), I understand that no activity program is absolutely free of risk.

In consideration, I hereby understand and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Muslim Association of Canada- Quran Contest, Muslim Association of Canada, any of its employees, administrators, organizers, staff, representatives, volunteers, or any persons partaking in this program, from any and all liability, claims, and demands of any kind or nature that may arise or hereafter arise due to my child(ren)'s enrolment in this program. As such, I will not hold any persons involved personally or legally responsible.

I understand that I am expected to prepare my child(ren) to behave respectfully and abide by the rules of Muslim Association of Canada- Quran Contest. I understand that it is my responsibility to drop off and pick up my child(ren) according to the admission and dismissal time set by Muslim Association or Canada- Quran Contest or else my child(ren) may be left unsupervised before or after Contest/Ceremony hours.

In case of a medical emergency, I authorize Muslim Association of Canada- Quran Contest staff to see that my child(ren) is given professional medical care, and/or sent to an emergency centre in Calgary. In any case, emergency contacts provided will be contacted.

Muslim Association of Canada- Quran Contest will not assume responsibility for, or any obligation to any financial assistance or other form of assistance that may arise due to my child(ren)'s participation in Muslim Association of Canada- Quran contest programs.
